Explaining weather.

Something is happening outside,
maybe it's raining.
Please bring a raincoat
and rubber shoes.
And if you're on a plane,
don't look out the window.
Unless, three miles below you
through the gray sheets
and tree canopies and birds
preening their wings
is a kid standing in the raincoat
and rubber shoes I asked for you to bring
watching raindrops spin around the brim of his hat.

you're very good with images. you should write a poem where it's just a bunch of really awesome minutillo style images.

anyway, muncie's ok. i'm living with megan now. i just got hired at the youth opportunity center and i've gone through lots of training and should start shadowing very soon. the job is basically working with kids who have behavioral problems. it should be pretty fun and rewarding most of the time. i've been working on some poems that i'm pretty excited about. writing has been off and on throughout the summer.

have you felt really weird about being graduated and thinking "oh, this is what happens after college, i guess?" i don't know. it's strange. i've kind of felt that way. it's also really strange being in muncie now because most of my writer friends are gone. ryan rader just came back to muncie. i think he's the only one still here.
